CoreFocused, LLC a private Pilates studio in Hollis, New Hampshire is participating in the Breast Cancer Research Foundation & Shape Magazine October Breast Cancer Awareness & Fundraising event: Pilates for Pink. Jody Secules of Corefocused, LLC will donate 50% of her session fees to maximum of $500 during two weeks of October beginning the week of the 15th and the week of the 22nd to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Jody Secules, a Certified STOTT PILATES® instructor, has recently taken a special Pilates Matwork workshop for Breast Cancer rehab. Jody indicates that Pilates exercise is great for boosting one’s immune system, regaining one’s confidence and increasing range of motion & strength. It is a gentle form of exercise which yields results. In addition, Pilates exercise is a natural way to tone and slim the body, alleviate stress & back issues, as well as enhance athletic ability.

January 2008: Jody Secules attended a 3 day workshop with Aaron Mattes on his Active Isolated Stretching Method and Assisted Isolated Stretching method that yields profound results. Over the past 35 years Aaron Mattes has been refining a muscle specific stretching method that incorporates no more than a 2 second stretch and release and 10 repetitions. During each 2 second stretch each specific muscle & related fascia stretches without the stretch reflex triggering a constriction of blood flood and progress. With each gradual stretch, the range of the joint increases, pathways are opened, nourishing the muscles with blood & oxygen, wastes are removed, healing is enhanced with regards to rehab. This type of stretching method can be utilized before or after cardiovascular activity. Active isolated stretching enhances a Pilates workout. Full range of joints - Flexibility & Stability with Strength means optimal power in sports. Increased range of joints in regards to rehab plus a strength component means improved quality of life. Active Isolated Stretching & Pilates are methods of increasing power in sports as well as improving quality of Life with regards to rehabilitation.

CoreFocused will be one of a number of sponsors for the upcoming First Annual Jonathan Gilmour Memorial Scholarship Fund Ride to be held on May 10th. The bike-a-thon fundraiser will begin & end at the historic Lawerence Barn in Hollis, NH. The ride will feature 3 routes, 10, 25, and 50 miles. A festive BBQ will follow the ride. Proceeds will benefit the Zoo New England's Jonathan Gilmour Memorial Scholarship fund. CoreFocused added a STOTT PILATES Cadillac & a Ladder Barrel this month. CoreFocused is now a fully equipped Pilates studio, offering a multitude of programming options to address it's client's individual needs.
